Privacy Policy
This policy covers syncfac.com, the public website of SyncFac (Pty) Ltd. It does not cover the products we operate. Each product publishes its own privacy policy, and where you hold an account with one of them, that policy governs the personal information in it.
1. Who we are
SyncFac (Pty) Ltd is an independent software product company based in Eastern Cape, South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), we are the responsible party for personal information collected through this website.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@syncfac.com.
2. What this website collects
This website is a static publication. It has no accounts, no login, no comments and no advertising, and it does not set cookies for tracking or profiling.
The only personal information we receive through this site is what you choose to put in an email to us. That is typically your name, your email address, the organisation you are writing on behalf of and whatever you tell us about your project.
We do not run analytics or advertising scripts on this site. We do not sell, rent or share your information with third parties for their own marketing. Standard web server logs may record an IP address and a request line for security and diagnostics, and are kept only as long as they are useful for that.
3. Why we use it, and for how long
We use what you send us to answer you, to work out whether we can help, and to keep a record of the enquiry and anything we agreed. That is the lawful basis of a legitimate business interest, and, where an engagement follows, the performance of a contract.
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are kept only as long as they are useful for context on a later conversation, and are deleted on request. Records connected to work we actually did are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
4. Service providers
Email and hosting are provided by third parties acting on our instructions. They process your information only to deliver those services, and we do not authorise them to use it for anything else.
Where a provider processes information outside South Africa, we rely on the transfer conditions in section 72 of POPIA.
5. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to our use of it. Write to us and we will action it.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
